Harvest Home Animal Sanctuary…good peeps.

 : )

Barbara Walters, of 20/20, did a story on gender roles in Kabul, Afghanistan, several years before the Afghan conflict.

She noted that women customarily walked five paces behind their husbands.
She recently returned to Kabul and observed that women still walk behind
their husbands. Despite the overthrow of the oppressive Taliban regime, the women now seem happy to maintain the old custom.

Ms Walters approached one of the Afghani women and asked, "Why do you
now seem happy with an old custom that you once tried so desperately to change?'

The woman looked Ms Walters straight in the eyes, and without hesitation
said, “Land mines.”

One of our bunderful humans sent a pic of her darling bunny girl, Bonnie. : )

Ain't she purrrty?

Vote for HRS!

THE IDEA: The contest at the Animal Rescue Site is still going on. The rescue group who gets the most votes wins $5000 (grand prize), and there are smaller prizes for statewide winners. Click on this link, then enter House Rabbit Society, Richmond, CA. You can't vote more than once a day from each computer, but you can vote on every computer and smart phone you have. If we all vote for us every day then maybe we can beat out the dogs and cats! Any money we win goes into our Chapter Grants and Emergency Rescue Fund to be available to HRS chapters in times of need. Go rabbits!
